    Monoploy Poloyester Thread

    Hello,

I have a quilt top that has sawtooth stars with black and white piano music centers, with dark purple star points with various dark purple back grounds. The border is a piano keyboard (colors are black and white). The fabric for the backing is black and white and looks like sheet music. I was hoping not to have to use nylon thread to quilt it. Yet I was hoping not to affect the pattern on the back or the front. Someone suggested using clear monopoly thread. I noticed there is a clear and smoke color. Is the clear monoply polyester thread really clear or is it more of a white in color? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to quilt it with affecting the pattern as well as a type of thread to use?

    Hi Sabrena,

I would probably just use white thread.  It sounds like white is a predominate color so it would probably work really well.  I am not fond of the nylon/polyester threads because sometimes I like to iron my quilt out nicely to enter it in a show and if you iron that thread it will melt.  Not a fun thing. Just a thought.

    Piece,

    Marsha
